5Very nice quality, worth the priceFeb 19, 2010

I've been wearing skirts and dresses a lot recently and have been looking for nice, basic black tights to layer under them during the colder months. After a couple of mishaps with cheap tights that were either too thin, snag easily, or stretch out and get baggy while I'm wearing them; I decided to spend the little bit of extra money on these tights. And it was money well spent :]

While I've always had to be very careful with some of my cheaper tights, I'm not worried about causing a run in these Spanx tights at all. They definitely have some nice heft to them without looking too thick. It sucks in any little bumps that you may have without being too constricting. The waistband stays up nicely and comfortably without being too snug.

Just as a reference since I was a little unsure about the sizing when I was purchasing these, I'm 5'3, 123lbs, with hips and thighs that run on the curvier side. I got these tights in the 'B' size and they fit perfectly. The tights came with its own sizing chart that was much more helpful than the sizing chart currently available on this page. You can find it on the Spanx website.

4Spanx are Durable, But ExpensiveJan 11, 2008

I am a recent purchaser of the Spanx Tight End Matte Tights and have been extremely satisfied. Have found no problem with the quality -- they wear well and provide the shaping I desire. My only complaint is that the price seems pretty high for a product of this type. I used to buy Haines Opaque Shapers, but those are no longer offered. I think the Spanx are better than the Haines product.

2not opaqueNov 20, 2011
By Mainiac
I am frustrated with the hosiery industry redefining the word "opaque". These are not "sheers", certainly, but they're not what I think of as tights, either. If I can see my skin through them, they're not opaque. (This listing does not say they're opaque, but I went to other sites with this product number and was told that these were.)

I was frustrated to pay this price and then not actually have what I think of as opaque tights. Now, I've learned that one needs to find out the denier level of hosiery. Wikipedia can explain denier to you better than I, but for me, I like denier 90 or 100, and these are maybe 70 at best.

The only two current lines I've found that are heavy enough for my wishes are Donna Karan Perfect Opaque (90 denier, Style #OB259, hard to find in anything other than black) and Falke Pure Matte 100 Opaque Tights (100 denier, Style #40110, which is enormously expensive). FYI that I did also try a pair of the Hue "Super Opaque Control Top" (Style #6620), which said it was 90 denier on the listing of the site I bought them at, but these are comparable to the Spanx in density. (They're much more affordable, though, if you like the Spanx density.)

The Falke tights: Falke Pure Matte Opaque Tights Hosiery
The good Donna Karans: Donna Karan Hosiery The Signature Collection Perfect Opaque Tights

5Snags aren't the sellers fault... they're the fault of the wearer...Nov 29, 2007
By Jennifer Carlson "Shop-aholic"
I am a consumer who wears Spanx often. While I do know that they can snag (just like any other tights can), the product is extremely well made, serves a flattering purpose effectively and DOES have an exceptional reputation. To the lady who posted the negative review: it's unfair to judge a product due to an error on your part. Tights snag. You've got to be carful.

3Not Worth the MoneyDec 11, 2010

Basically just control pantyhose. I bought total control pantyhose at Target for less than half the price that are just as good. I wouldn't pay for these again.
