Balconette
The Balconette bra or shelf bra is another underwire that has even less coverage than the Demi Bra. This bra creates uplift and cleavage so that the breasts look like they are literally on display. They work well with low-cut tops, especially if you are looking for more of a lift.
-Example: 'Jezebel' Desire Push Up Bra
Bustiers
A Bustier is a one-piece bodice that extends from the bust to the waist or hip. Like a corset, it offers great support and creates a beautiful, hour-glass shape.
-Example: 'Goddess' Lace Bustier Bra
Contour
Contour bras offer a rounder-looking bustline. They are made with a fiberfill or foam lining to enhance the shape of the breast and to decrease nipple visibility.
-Example: 'Lise Charmel' Ivory Embellished Contour Bra
Convertible
The Convertible bra is designed with adjustable (and sometimes detachable) straps that make it easy to wear under halter, racerback, one-shoulder and low-back garments.
-Example: 'Felina' Bra of the Year Convertible Strapless Deep Plunge Bra
Demi Cup
The Demi Cup bra is an underwire bra that only covers the bottom half of the breast. (‘Demi' means half.) The upper part of the breast is left bare, making it easy to wear low-cut tops.
-Example: 'Jezebel' Desire Unlined Demi Bra
Molded Cup
Molded Cup bras are machine molded. A flat piece of fabric undergoes heat-molding to form a realistic cup shape. These bras are perfect for tight-fitting tops because they provide a smooth look; however they don't offer the best support for larger busts.
-Example: 'Simone Perele' Andora Molded T-Shirt Bra
Nursing
Nursing bras offer the best comfort, support and convenience for a mother that's nursing. They often come with flaps that create an opening in the cup, making it easier to feed a baby without taking off the entire bra.
-Example: 'Goddess' Love at First Sight Nursing Bra
Plunge
Plunge bras provide a low-plunging neckline because of their angled cups and narrow center. They work best with low, v-neck tops.
-Example: 'Felina' Jennifer Deep Plunge Seamless Full Busted Bra
Push-Up
The Push-Up bra is designed to make the bust appear fuller. This underwire lifts the breasts high to offer better cleavage, and it usually comes with some sort of padding.
-Example: 'Jezebel' Bow Boudoir Demi Push Up Bra
Soft-Cup
Soft-Cup (also No-Wire or Wireless) bras provide less support because they don't have underwires. They're best for people with smaller cups or when you want your breasts to feel less constricted.
-Example: 'Belabumbum' Bamboo Triangle Bra
Sports
Sports bras are great to wear during physical activity because they help prevent breast tissue damage. Compression styles are best for women with smaller chests, while more structured designs are best for larger chests.
-Example: 'Goddess' Sports Bra
Strapless
Strapless (sometimes called Bandeau) bras are made without shoulder straps. They're usually lined with silicone or rubber strips to keep the bra from falling down. There are several variations, including underwire, seamless, push-up and padded, that all work best with strapless or halter tops.
-Example: 'Fantasie' Smoothing Strapless Bra
T-Shirt Bra
The T-Shirt bra is seamless and usually made out of microfiber, creating a nearly-invisible look that works best under knits and clingy tops.
-Example: 'Fantasie' Smoothing T-Shirt Bra
Underwire
Underwire bras offer more support because they contain a wire placed in the bra that runs directly under the breasts, offering proper lift and separation.
